On 26 February, the winning design of the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix trophy will be unveiled, selected through an international competition featuring both national and international designers.

The call for entries has sparked notable interest within the creative sector, reinforcing the Grand Prix’s intention to link Formula 1 and art in a unique piece.

A professional jury made up of leading figures from the worlds of design, sport and culture — including motorsport legend and two-time World Rally Champion Carlos Sainz; the director of the Thyssen Museum, Guillermo Solana; and internationally renowned architect and designer Teresa Sapey — will be responsible for selecting the finalist works this Thursday, 19 February. One week later, on the 26th, the winning design will be announced at an event to be held at 8:00 p.m. at the Palacio de Cibeles, with institutional, cultural and media representation in attendance.

To choose the trophy design for the TAG HEUER FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA, the jury will take into account criteria such as sustainability, sophistication, originality and how each proposal reflects Madrid’s culture, as well as a degree of inspiration drawn from the circuit layout and from Formula 1.

The trophy will not only honour the winner of the race, but also aims to become a symbol of the innovative and cosmopolitan character of the Spanish F1 Grand Prix.
