The Red Bull driver claims his second consecutive victory after controlling the race from pole, while the championship leader completes the podium following an intense late battle with Hamilton and Norris

Max Verstappen added Singapore to his list of victories. The Dutchman won at the Marina Bay street circuit for the first time in ten appearances, completing a perfect weekend in which he also won the Sprint and secured his maiden pole position at the track.

The Red Bull driver controlled the race from start to finish, crossing the line 7.335 seconds ahead of Charles Leclerc. Kimi Antonelli completed the podium after an impressive late charge that saw him overtake both Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton.

Verstappen held off Leclerc at the start and gradually began to build a gap. His only pit stop came on lap 33, when he switched from soft to medium tyres. Neither of the two Virtual Safety Car periods nor the radio issues he experienced in the closing stages threatened a victory that marked his second consecutive win of the season.

With Leclerc settled in second place, attention turned to the battle for the final podium position. Hamilton attempted to reach the chequered flag without making a second stop, but his worn tyres eventually began to take their toll. Antonelli capitalised on the Briton’s battle with Norris, passing the McLaren before overtaking the Ferrari to secure third place.

Norris and Oscar Piastri also found their way past Hamilton before the chequered flag, relegating the seven-time world champion to sixth.

Antonelli takes another step towards the championship

Verstappen’s second successive victory adds further excitement to the closing stages of the season, although Antonelli retains a commanding lead at the top of the standings. The Mercedes driver leaves Singapore with 340 points, 102 more than George Russell, and moves another step closer to the title.

Verstappen climbs to fourth in the championship with 221 points, eight behind Hamilton. Despite his recent resurgence, the Dutchman remains 119 points adrift of the leader.

Behind the top six, Liam Lawson finished seventh, with Nico Hülkenberg taking eighth. George Russell recovered from the back of the grid to finish ninth, although he was unable to pass the Audi driver in the closing laps.

Isack Hadjar completed the points-scoring positions after starting from the pit lane. His tenth-place finish ensured that Red Bull ended the race with both cars inside the top ten.

Sainz and Alonso finish outside the points

Both Spanish drivers finished outside the points in Singapore. Carlos Sainz came home 14th for Williams, while Fernando Alonso finished 16th behind the wheel of his Aston Martin.

The Singapore Grand Prix was ultimately defined by Verstappen’s dominance and another important step towards the championship for Antonelli.
