COMMITTED TOSUSTAINABILITY

The aim of the promoters of the SPanish Formula 1 Ggrand Prix 2026 - 2035 is not only to be a benchmark on the calendar, but also to be a model of economic, social and environmental responsibility.

How are we doing?

Actions already implemented:

Compliance with ISO Standards:

  • Quality management (ISO 9001: 2015)
  • ISO Environmental Management (ISO 14001: 2015)
  • Sustainability management (ISO 20121: 2013)
  • Energy management (ISO 50001: 2018)
  • Emergency management (ISO 22320: 2013)

Efficient resource management at IFEMA SUR:

  • On the section of the circuit located at IFEMA MADRID Sur, most of the electricity supply for the event will be covered by Guarantees of Origin (GdO).
  • These guarantees, issued by the CNMC, certify that an equivalent amount of electricity has been generated from renewable sources and fed into the electricity grid.

Sustainable mobility:

  • Public transport accessible to the event.
  • Zero-emission maintenance vehicles.
  • Parking for electric vehicles and bicycles.

Improved efficient resource management:

  • Energy efficient lighting.
  • 5 MW solar photovoltaic plant with additional charging stations.
  • Energy efficient renovation of the Puerta Sur building.
  • Agreements with Metro de Madrid and Renfe for urban mobility during the event.
  • Carbon footprint measurement.
  • Waste management: Use of sustainable and recyclable materials.
  • Sustainable catering: inclusive menus, reduction of packaging and collaboration with NGOs.
     

  • Volunteering and social inclusion actions.
  • Management of food surplus.
  • Purple points (prevention of gender violence) and rainbow points (LGTB inclusion and awareness).
  • Event with accessible routes
