The countdown to the 2026 FORMULA 1 TAG HEUER SPANISH GRAND PRIX has begun

Madrid put on its helmet on 13 September 2025. Exactly one year to go, and coinciding with the exact time the Spanish Grand Prix will start on 13 September 2026, a group of enigmatic individuals dressed in black, wearing helmets and Manila shawls, emerged from a tube entrance crowned by a giant MADRING helmet. Their vibrant choreography transformed Puerta del Sol into an impromptu stage that took everyone by surprise.

The flash mob went viral and marked the start of the countdown to the Madrid Grand Prix, which aims to get the whole city into the Formula 1 spirit over that weekend.

At the same time, a countdown clock was activated in Sol, showing the 365 days remaining until the FORMULA 1 TAG HEUER SPANISH GRAND PRIX 2026, alongside the announcement that TAG Heuer will be the title sponsor. The Swiss brand, Official Timekeeper of F1 from 2025, will keep the clock in the square until 15:00 on 13 September 2026, when the first Grand Prix gets underway.
