Grand Prix Trophy 'Monumental'

The FORMULA 1 TAG HEUER SPANISH GRAND PRIX dressed up on Thursday 26 February for one of its most special events.

In the heart of Madrid, at the Palacio de Cibeles, the design of the Grand Prix trophy was unveiled. The ‘Monumental’ proposal, designed by the Italian studio Pininfarina and inspired by the Monumental curve, the longest banked corner on the calendar and set to become the most iconic on the MADRING circuit, was selected as the official trophy. Rally driver and jury member Carlos Sainz was responsible for making the announcement.

The event was attended by numerous figures from the world of art, such as the internationally renowned architect and designer Teresa Sapey, who also took part in the deliberations, and among the authorities in attendance were the mayor of the city, José Luis Martínez Almeida, and the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso. It was a unique evening where the art of winning the Spanish Grand Prix was given the Pininfarina seal of approval.
