MADRING gets
UNDERWAY

With the construction license approved, the machines got to work to start bringing the MADRING circuit to life. To celebrate, a launch event was held in true Formula 1 style. The Spanish Grand Prix laid its first stone with an excavator race, flagged off by Carlos Sainz himself. But that wasn’t the only surprise. The Madrid-born driver was officially named MADRING ambassador during the event. Sainz said that racing at home would be a dream come true and confidently stated that the circuit will have a personality of its own.

The event was attended by the Executive President of IFEMA Madrid, José Vicente de los Mozos; the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso; the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida; representatives from the automotive industry; and numerous media outlets from across all sectors.
